About the Business
In 1989, Peter and Margaret Wilkinson took over the tenancy of HIltons Farm in the village of Great Altcar, Formby, Merseyside. The farm has many enterprises including beef, sheep and arable crops (wheat, barley, potatoes, oil seed, rape and grass).
In 1996 the farm diversified into selling packs of home produced hay and straw for small animal bedding. The business has now grown extensively and the product range extended to include soft woodshavings and paper bedding. In 2005, following investment into a fully automated packing machine, the decision was made to separate the pet bedding from the main farm business, and a new business was created named Q Hay Ltd, trading as Wilkinsons Pet Bedding. Today, our customer base continues to grow and we now supply Pet Retailers, Pet Wholesalers, Garden Centres and DIY stores all over the UK. As a family run business, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with excellent quality products and service. We won't let you down!
