I normally advise measuring from the neck to base of tail, but as you see in the photo I have taken this coat abit further past the base of tail. The bottom area of the coat is shaped to give a better fit. If you have an unusual shape dog its always worth measuring around the neck and chest. The strapes are adjustable to give a perfect fit. The coat slips over the head so if you have a dog with a rather wide neck let me know and the coat will be re-shaped to fit. less
